The sixth workshop on 2nd ECFA/DESY Study on Physics and Detectors for a Linear Electron-Positron Collider will be held in Padova, Italy, from 5th to 8th May 1999, at the Physics Department "Galileo Galilei"  and I.N.F.N. Sezione di Padova (Via F. Marzolo, 8) of the
University of Padova.  (see #0 on Padova Hotels' map)

Padova is one of the largest cities in the North-East of Italy. The city is located 40 km west of Venice and is known for its dynamic economy, artistic buildings and a famous University.
The "Universita' degli Studi di Padova" is the second oldest University in Italy and is one of the most ancient in Europe. Juridical, theological, philosophical and medical studies were fostered in the mediaeval town before the ground was prepared for the official birthof a permanent university, which took place on September 29, 1222. The first graduated woman in the world, achieved her degree at the University of Padova.
Many flights connect Venice airport "Marco Polo" to the main international airports. Padova is also well connected to the railway and highways.
 

The Workshop will start on Friday May 5 at 14:00 and will end on Monday May 8 at 14:00.

From May 5th to 8th the secretariat office schedule will be as follows:
9.00 - 13.00 / 14.30 - 17.30.
Both morning and afternoon sessions will undergo to a pause of about 30 minutes for a
coffee break. Lunch time on Saturday and Monday will be left at participant's initiative.
Suggestions on places, restaurants and bars where to have a bite will be available at the
conference secretariat desk.
 
 

Conference registration form is now available.  It is possible to register using the Web
form interactively or by sending back the filled in form via fax (fax number:
+39 049 8756233).

Please be aware that this is not an accommodation form.  Go to "accommodation"
for your hotel reservation.

The registration fee of Lit. 150.000 (about 77,5 EURO) includes equipment hire,
secretarial services, the welcome cocktail, the refreshment and the social dinner
on Sunday May 7 and coffee breaks.

Please note that the registration fee has to be paid in cash (Italian Lira only). 

• A terminal room with a considerable number of working stations:  PC for e-mail reading/sending;

• Overhead projectors, video projectors (available only during the plenary sessions);

• Photocopy machine: we strongly recommend the use of electronic version for the presentation; papery documents should be reduced to the lowest, strictly necessary need;

• Color and b/w printers with possibility to print colored slides.

During the spring months, the weather is changeable; warm but sometimes rainy.
In May the temperatures may range between 16 and 26 degrees centigrade.
Bring suitable clothing with you.
