Dear Colleagues, the foundry has informed us that the delivery of the ALICE pixel wafers is delayed. The delay seems to be due to a problem in the processing line which generated a temporary backlog of large jobs, so that our job (very small in comparison) was pushed at lower priority. The schedule is now as follows: The front-end chip wafers from the engineering run will be out of the foundry on 18 Sept. Shipping and custom procedures should add about one week before delivery to CERN. The dummy wafers are currently scheduled to be available about two weeks earlier. The effects of the delay on our planning are being evaluated. Best regards, Federico and Giorgio
