Welcome to the LCcal page  

The LCcal collaboration  has  commisioned a  prototype of an electromagnetic calorimeter for future Linear Collider experiments.  The technique used for the prototype realisation consists of a sampling calorimeter made by absorber and scintillator layers with wavelength shifting fibers and by 3 planes of Si pads to obtain very precise information on the transversal shower profile at different positions in the longitudinal shower development.
