The Synoptic View window
You can open or close this window by clicking the button
on the left toolbar of the Main View window. This window provides a zoomed-out representation of any cell-lattice configuration both in Draw & Run mode and in Cut & Paste mode. In general, you can change the position of the visible area of the cell lattice by dragging the scrollbar sliders. If the window is maximized, the whole cell lattice area is visible and the scrollbars do not appear.
A magenta rectangle contour in the Synoptic View represents the cell-lattice area shown in the Main View. Since the Main View and the Synoptic View work coordinately in all functions and operations, any re-positioning of the visible cell-lattice area in the Main View carried out by scrollbar operations causes a corresponding displacement of the magenta contour in the Synoptic View. Vice versa, any displacement of the magenta contour, that can be obtained by clicking and dragging the magenta contour in the Synoptic View, causes a corresponding re-positioning of the cell-lattice in the Main View and of the Main View scrollbar sliders.
In Cut & Paste mode, you can perform multiple selections of cell-lattice fragments coordinately in both the Main and the Synoptic view as well as Cut & Paste operations.
