Opportunities for industry

Strong collaboration with industry has always been a fundamental aspect of the research activity conducted by INFN.

Industrial supplies are the first area in which this collaboration takes place, sometimes with the aim of developing innovative prototypes and components that require companies to participate – already in the research and development phase of projects – in the implementation of new technological solutions and methods for production.

In the context of technology transfer activities, the interaction with the industrial world becomes even stronger, whether it involves developing applications derived from basic research up to the possible commercial outcomes, or whether it involves putting the institute’s laboratories with their skills and competences at disposal for developments requested directly by the companies.

For this kind of activities, INFN has both a central office and local representatives in every site.
