Rules for granting a local account

Accounts on the computers of the INFN Section of Padova can be granted to:

• personnel holding a contract with the INFN Section of Padova or with the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Padova:
  • Employees
  • Research Fellows and Scholarship Holders
  • PhD Students
  • INFN Associates
• personnel without a contract who collaborate with members of the employed staff:
  • Graduate Students
  • Interns
  • Official Guests invited by the Section or the Department
  • External Collaborators

To obtain a local account, you must first have obtained an AAI account of type LoA2.
These accounts do not expire, so if in the past you have had a local account with INFN even in another section or have used resources such as agenda.infn.it (INDICO of INFN) or Cloud INFN, you almost certainly already have an AAI account. You just need to reset the password if it has expired.

The procedure for requesting and creating a local account is completely computerized, the portal is accessible at https://calcolo.pd.infn.it
Please read the instructions in the right column carefully.

Depending on the qualification, the request may require some authorizations:

• staff with a contract
  requires authorization from the relevant secretariat (INFN or DFA),
  the expiration date set for the account is the expiration date of the contract
• staff who collaborate with dependent staff
  requires authorization from an internal employee (permanent), and based on the qualification, authorization from the relevant secretariat (INFN or DFA) and/or the director of the Padua section may be required.
  The duration of the account is the one officially established for the collaboration relationship; in the case of external collaborators it cannot exceed one year.

In addition to the account, an email address with name.surname@pd.infn.it is always activated. When your account expires, this email address will not be enabled for shipping anymore but it will still receive emails for another year, in this case the emails can be redirected to another email address.
After one year, the email address is deleted altogether with the account itself.

Account renewal methods
These are identical to those for the first activation.

Short extension of account validity
The expiration of an account can be extended, or an expired account can be reactivated upon motivated request of the interested party, without further formalities, for the time strictly necessary to carry out the requested operations and in any case for a period not exceeding one month.
